FLoC has now started. If you wish to make a late registration, read on.
All registration and payment is online. Keep reading for the link.
Reception and banquet are now fully booked, with no more tickets. There is a sign-up sheet in the Appleton Tower concourse to trade spare tickets.
No printed proceedings. All conferences have electronic proceedings, and every participant gets a USB stick with full papers. There are instructions on how to buy printed proceedings at the desk in Appleton Tower concourse.
No refunds. There are no refunds of any fees after the start of FLoC on 9 July.
Once you have registered and paid online, you will receive a receipt by email, and can then collect your registration pack from the FLoC conference office in the gallery above the Appleton Tower concourse. The office will be open every day from 8am to 6pm. Now follow the link to the online registration form.
The online registration form allows you to register for conferences and workshops, and make payment by credit or debit card. You can book campus accommodation separately. The rest of this page sets out further information about registration: please read it carefully before proceeding to the online form. All participants are expected to register for at least one conference or workshop for the days they are attending FLoC.
FLoC 2010 will be based in the Appleton Tower in the heart of the University of Edinburgh, with workshops also in the award-winning Informatics Forum. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and we are anticipating up to 1,000 delegates between 9 and 21 July. Please register as early as possible to take advantage of discounted prices before 17 May and to allow efficient conference organisation. Late registrations are an unnecessary administrative burden and a substantial premium will be charged for registrations after 30 June.
All fees are in UK Pound Sterling (GBP) and include taxes where relevant.
There are two categories of participants for all conferences and workshops:
- General rate
- Student rate
Students receive a 40% discount on conference and workshop fees; however, their registration does not include tickets to the conference banquet.
Students wishing to register at the reduced rates must fax proof of student status (Subject: FLoC Student Status) to +44 131 650 6513, or send a PDF file with proof of student status (Subject: FLoC Student Status) to email@example.com
A limited number of travel grants are available. See the student travel support page for more information.
Online Registration Procedure
Registration services are supplied by The University of Edinburgh on their ePay web store. The following details may help you complete the process.
Note: If you haven't yet entered your credit-card number, then you haven't yet booked a place.
The site is here.
To use the ePay store, you must first provide an email address and password to set up an account. This also means that you can return later to finish a partially-completed booking, or to book additional events.
The account setup page requests name and address details. These are used in the credit-card payment process, and should match the expectations of your bank. You have a separate opportunity later to enter professional title and affiliation.
The ePay site offers general and student registration as alternative packages: within each of these are bundled the individual conferences and workshops.
You can book for yourself, for someone else, or for several people. The site distinguishes between details of the person making the booking, and of the conference participant. Where this is the same person, details can be automatically copied across.
The site presents a cycle of pages to record the various details of your booking. Once you have completed this cycle, it is possible to re-enter it and change your choices as many times as necessary.
Once your choices are complete, actually making the purchase requires several confirmation steps, beginning with "Add to Basket" and "Proceed to Checkout". Successful completion is acknowledged with the message Thank you for shopping at the University of Edinburgh and an itemised receipt. You are then automatically logged out of the site.
There is no "log out" button during purchase. However, selecting "Home" in the navigation panel will take you to a page that may say at the top-right hand corner "Hi, you are logged in as ..., if you are not ..., please click here". Do so, and you will be logged out.
Registration in Stages
You can book and pay for one event initially, and then add further components later — workshops, banquet tickets, etc. There are no penalties for ordering items individually, and you can use the same email address and password to access your account on the registration site.
We are able to accept payment with cards issued by VISA (Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron) and MasterCard (MasterCard, Maestro, Solo). We cannot take payment from American Express. If this is a problem for you, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to investigate alternative arrangements.
The Edinburgh Convention Bureau have asked us to help in evaluating visitors' experience of the city. If you agree to this during registration, then once FLoC is over we shall send you an email from them seeking feedback on what Edinburgh does well, and what could be improved.
FLoC will not give the Convention Bureau your email address, or any other contact details.

|Regular||18 May||30 June|

These apply to all conference and workshop fees. Please register as early as possible: this will save you money, and also help the FLoC conferences to plan effectively.
All conferences and all workshops participating in FLoC 2010 have the same fee structure; except for CSF and LICS, which have different rates for “members” and “non-members” of relevant professional associations (IEEE and ASL for LICS, IEEE for CSF).

Registration for all conferences and workshops includes a USB memory stick carrying electronic copies of papers from all FLoC events. Paper proceedings are not included in registration costs.
Some conferences will have paper proceedings; for these you can order copies during online registration, up to June 10. These are offered at a significant reduction, generally more than 50%, on the list price, and will be available for collection when you arrive at FLoC.
No paper proceedings are available for pre-order after June 10. At FLoC itself go to the proceedings desk in the Appleton Tower concourse for information on how to buy additional copies of paper proceedings.
Note: Orders for Springer proceedings (CAV/IJCAR/ITP/SAT) close earlier, on May 30 (at midnight UTC+1). This is a change from the date previously advertised, and is necessary to meet the publisher's printing deadline.
